A Brave two turned up on the shop ride. We pedalled about 20 miles through the snow and slush. It feels like Alaska out there! barely a sole on the trails, occasional mini blizzards when the wind whipped through the trees bringing chunks of snow down on top of us.
The Surly karate monkey was the perfect choice for it, 2.8 wtb ranger tyres never felt like loosing grip, and plenty of tyre clearance helped as the snow built up around the chainstay junction.
Our derailleurs stopped working here and there as ice covered the jockey wheels, and the cables froze!
Makes you wonder how people cross the arctic by bike!
Cheers for coming Phil and kris.
