Fresh off the press into the United Kingdom for 2019 are Teravail Tyres. We’re super stoked to be a Teravail UK stockist, as they’re producing the goods we’ve been after for years!
We’re most excited about the unique tread patterns in the Teravail Cannonball, (available in 650×40, 650×47, 700×35, 700×38 and 700×42) the Teravail Coronado (available in 27.5×3″, 29×2.8″ and 26×4″).
I’ve had a little time to test the Cannonball in the 650×47 and I’m already in love, it just hits the perfect spot between road speed, acceleration, and grip in the corners, all in a fantastically forgiving casing that remains sensitive to tiny cracks in the road even at higher pressures. The road-plus and gravel markets have been crying out for this tread in this size!
Each tread is available in ‘Light and Supple’ or ‘Durable’ casings. The tread thickness is not affected by your choice of casing, but the durable tyres have a layer of polymer woven into the sidewalls (the same principle as Maxxis EXO for example) which makes them a good choice if you’re heading somewhere remote and rocky. Otherwise, the Light and Supple option will save you some rotating weight and are a little kinder on the wallet.
At last, a brand specialising in gravel tyres and bikepacking tyres, and making one of the very few 29×2.8 tyres in the world- the Coronado 29+. Their whole range is tubeless ready too.
Above- The Teravail Coronado 29+ Tan in a Light and Supple casing. Coronado Fat and 27.5+ options are also available in the UK online now- send us an enquiry if you’re interested!
Below- The Teravail Cannonball 650 Tan. We have black and tan options in store now in the Light and Supple casing in a 650×47 width.
How much of a perfect tread pattern is that for fast mixed-terrain riding! The 650×47/48 tyre market has been needing an offering like this for a long while.
Also in their product lineup:
Below: Sparwood- designed for the Great Divide 2700 mile ultra endurance off-road race.
Below: Kennebeck- An aggressive all-mountain tyre.
Below: Cumberland- A fast all-mountain tyre.
Kennebeck front, Cumberland rear… The ideal bikepacking setup for singletrack shredding?
And there’s the speed-minded Ramparts…
And the Coronado and Cannonball are available in the combinations of…
I hope the above long list of prices can clarify any queries you might have with their lineup. A few rules- ‘durable’ is only available in black and is generally a little pricier, the more aggressive Kennebecs and Cumberlands are only available in black and 700 x 42 Ramparts and Cannonballs are only available in black.
Keep your eyes peeled for a full Teravail tyres review coming soon.
