Our favourite new gravel bike.. the Brother Mehteh has it all, Reynolds tubing, carbon fork, flat mount, big tyre clearance.. its fast and snappy, but confidence inspiring and stable.
The Mehteh is our Reynolds 725 steel gravel frame – a fast and agile drop bar bike, designed for long days in the saddle on varied terrain. We’ve pushed the tyre clearances beyond what you’d find on the average gravel bike giving the option of taking your ride even further off-road. Whether that’s an after work gravel dash or a full blown bikepacking adventure.
The personality of the Mehteh (pronounced /meɪteɪ/) is reflected in its name – a Himalayan word for the mountain dwelling Yeti which literally translates as “Man Beast”!
The Mehteh is constructed out of Reynolds 725 steel; a heat treated tubing famed for its strength and weight saving properties and an ideal material for the challenges of gravel riding and bikepacking. This is now matched with the Brother carbon gravel fork up front – featuring full carbon construction, fender mounts and triple cage mounts on each fork blade. The frame and fork have clearance for up to 650b x 2.1″ or 700c x 45 tyres to help you through the rough stuff.
Other features include thru-axle flat-mount dropouts, a replaceable derailleur hanger, 3 x bottle cage mounts, stealth dropper post routing and a custom Brother seatclamp, CNC machined in the UK.
As with all Brother products the Mehteh has been tested rigorously and it’s taken everything we can throw at it, from the rough tracks of the Scottish Highlands to the smooth gravel of the Bavarian Alps! Most impressively a Mehteh completed the 1,100km Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco.
